Wendy Bjornson, MPH, is the co-director of the OHSU Smoking Cessation Center where she is primarily responsible for collaborative tobacco cessation policy and treatment implementation projects and has served as a co-investigator for several clinical trials, including recent trials of bupropion and varenicline.. She presently serves as the Project Manager for the OHSU Tobacco-Free Campus Initiative and as the Director of the national Tobacco Cessation Leadership Network (TCLN). Ms. Bjornson is a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Smoking Cessation Leadership Center, providing a natural partnership with the SCLC Smoking and Mental Health Project with the current TCLN project: Bringing Everyone Along: Reaching Smokers with Mental Health and Substance Abuse Disorders. 

Ms. Bjornson was responsible for the initial development of the Tobacco Free Coalition of Oregon. Subsequently she was responsible for a regional tobacco cessation consortium known as the Pacific Center on Health and Tobacco and then a national consortium know as the Comprehensive Tobacco Cessation Leadership Project. She regularly collaborates with the Centers for Disease Control Office on Smoking or Health to provide technical support for cessation initiatives within state tobacco control programs.  

Ms. Bjornson has had 26 years of experience in public health research, health counseling, professional education, and in directing health programs; over 20 years in Oregon devoted to tobacco use.  She has numerous publications on tobacco research and treatment. Ms. Bjornson holds a degree in public health from the University of Minnesota.
