Scott Thomas, Ph.D. works as a consultant in the area of public health. His focus is in implementation and evaluation of health behavior change programs in health care settings. As a Senior Project Manager at Kaiser Permanente Northern California he was instrumental in building an award winning tobacco dependence program that integrated cessation services into regular health care delivery. He has incorporated cessation services into substance abuse programs, mental health facilities, community health clinics, prisoner re-entry programs and pregnant women’s health services. He recently was the lead consultant on a qualitative research study examining the factors related to the sustainability and spread of quality improvement initiatives in health care settings. His clients include universities, foundations, and non-profit organizations. Scott completed his graduate work in counseling psychology and qualitative research methods at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his doctorate in Education. |
